HitchCal Privacy Policy

Effective September 12, 2026

HitchCal is designed to calculate rotational work schedules without requiring an account or sending schedule information to a HitchCal server. This policy explains the data practices of the current version of the app.

Information stored on your device

HitchCal stores the information needed to provide its features locally on your device. This can include:

• Your rotation start date, days on, days off, and shift pattern.
• An optional payday schedule.
• App preferences such as theme, calendar week start, and time format.
• Whether initial app setup has been completed.

This information is stored using the device’s local app storage. It is not uploaded to HitchCal and is not available to us.

Information HitchCal does not collect

The current app does not collect or transmit:

• Names, phone numbers, account credentials, or contact lists.
• Precise or approximate location.
• Photos, camera data, health data, or payment information.
• Advertising identifiers or data used for tracking.
• Usage analytics or crash-reporting data.

HitchCal has no advertising, user accounts, cloud sync, or push notifications.

Calendar and holiday calculations

Rotation, payday, and U.S. holiday calculations are performed in the app on your device. The dates you check are not sent to HitchCal.

Sharing

If you choose a Share option, HitchCal creates a temporary image of the relevant calendar or holiday information and opens your device’s standard share sheet. You choose the recipient or third-party app. HitchCal does not upload the image to its own servers. The receiving service’s privacy practices apply after you choose to share.

Support communications

If you email HitchCal Support, we receive the email address, message, and any information you voluntarily include. We use that information to respond to your request, investigate problems, and improve HitchCal. Support correspondence is not sold or used for advertising. It may be processed by the email service used to send and receive the message.

Retention and deletion

Local app information remains on your device until you change it, reset your schedule, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall HitchCal. Because HitchCal does not receive that local information, we cannot retrieve or delete it remotely.

Website information

HitchCal’s Support and Privacy Policy pages do not use advertising, analytics scripts, or cookies. Hosting infrastructure may process standard request information, such as an IP address and browser user agent, as needed to securely deliver these pages.

Children’s privacy

HitchCal is a general schedule utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if HitchCal’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
